Ingredients
Small Batch (2 Servings)
2 cups whole milk (or milk of choice)
2 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate, finely chopped
2 tbsp cocoa powder
2 tbsp granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Optional toppings: Mini marshmallows, whipped cream, or chocolate shavings
Large Batch (4-6 Servings)
6 cups whole milk (or milk of choice)
6 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate, finely chopped
¼ cup cocoa powder
¼ cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
2 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Optional toppings: Mini marshmallows, whipped cream, or chocolate shavings
Directions
Heat the Milk:
In the bella 2qt or 5qt saucepan, gently heat the milk over medium heat until it’s warm but not boiling. Stir occasionally to prevent scorching.
Whisk in Cocoa Powder and Sugar:
Sift the cocoa powder into the saucepan and whisk until fully dissolved. Add the sugar and stir until combined.
Melt the Chocolate:
Reduce heat to low and add the chopped chocolate. Stir constantly until the chocolate has melted completely and the mixture is smooth and creamy.
Add Vanilla and Salt:
Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt for depth of flavor.
Serve:
Pour the hot chocolate into mugs. Top with mini marshmallows, whipped cream, or chocolate shavings for an extra indulgent touch.
